Restoring Dignity

The Humuriza Tamar Foundation (HTF) is a transformative non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Rwanda, inspired by the biblical story of Tamar, the daughter of King David. Tamar endured a tragic act of violence and was abandoned without support for herself or any potential child. This story serves as a powerful reminder of the resilience required to overcome adversity and the importance of providing care and advocacy for victims of violence.

Since its inception, HTF has been steadfast in its mission to comfort and empower single mothers, survivors of violence, and their children. The foundation focuses on fostering sustainable community growth through innovative programs that address behavior change, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), children and women’s rights, and access to education for mothers and their children.
